A New Chapter of The Sit Boy — and a New Home for It - Chapter 7, Part II

A new chapter of The Sit Boy is live today — but for the first time, it isn't on Substack. It's living somewhere new.
Chapter 7: Back and Forth Across America (Part II) is the first chapter published on my new website, slightlymoody.com, where the whole project finally gets to live the way I always imagined it — the writing, the music, and the images woven together into a single experience instead of scattered across platforms.
In this chapter, Dixon hands off Magnolia, points the car back east, and drives the long northern route home alone for the first time. There's a Montana sky doing something he's never seen a sky do. There's a laundromat in Sioux Falls and the two strangers who find him there. There's a honky-tonk in Nashville, and a guitar he doesn't know how to play yet. It's a chapter about being lonesome and fine at the same time, and discovering those two things don't cancel each other out.
This one comes with two new songs built right into the page. Montana Sky scores the loneliest, most beautiful stretch of the drive — the storm and the sun in the same enormous sky. Three Chords is sung from someone else's side of the story entirely, and I'll let you discover who. Both sit inside the chapter at the exact moments they belong to, alongside a handful of new images from the road. (Yes. There's a buffalo. Really.)
